Those of you that have Paypal accounts AND offshore savings accounts better watch out. The IRS won the permission from a federal court in San Jose for account information. Paypal, who is owned by online auction giant, Ebay, has had money sent to financial institutions in 30 countries known to be tax havens. I don’t think this will affect everyday users, but it sure does scare me into believing that nothing is private anymore. Hey I might as well post all my financial information on MySpace, like that 14 year old girl on TV. Damn.

Finally, something worthwhile to write to the government about. The government will get together and revisit the anti-circumvention portions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). This will allow people who are ticked off and can’t legally put it on their MP3 players. You can actually write them a nastygram via the web or good ole’ fashioned snail mail. You have until December 1, 2005 to send your comments. You can send them via the web here. You can view other people’s comments via the USCO’s website as well. So voice your concerns and fight for your right to copy your stuff that you bought with your hard earned money.

So you think you are deleting files from your computer when you drag your files into the recycle bin, well think again. I was just surfing the web when I came across a program called Restoration. You can get it here from download.com and search for Restoration. This application will actually search your windows directory and find all the files you supposedly deleted from your hard drive. Little do you know, all Windows does is actually delete the directory entry, so your file was never ‘deleted’. So be careful where you put your files and be sure to format the Hard Drive if you plan on selling your computer.
