To Save or Not to Save

There has been much discussion lately about peace of mind and saving money. I have had many experiences where saving a few dollars now actually cost me more in the long run. Sometimes when you purchase something from a B&M (Brick and Mortar) store you wil pay MSRP for the product you are buying. So I ask, do YOU know the cutoff price where you are wiling to sacrifice savings for peace of mind?

I have had problems in the past where I bought something from Ebay at a discounted price, but I was paying for a product that had no warranty. So if it broke, I had no one to turn to. Typically, you would buy something from a Best Buy or Crutchfield, you pay the difference in savings, but you get customer service and undeniably great replacement plans. Personally, I have broken some of my toys, due to stupidity, but hey to err is human!

So in the end, if it is something expensive and it would cost a substantial amount to replace, I would suggest buying it from a reputable company. Maybe this is common sense to you guys, but you will have to realize the millions of people willing to go to great lengths to save a buck or two or even three. I’ve learned my lesson and hopefully, after reading this, you won’t have to learn yours.
