There was this interesting article about how the 30″ Apple Cinema Display increased productivity by 30%. If this isn’t a case for you to get a larger monitor at work, then I don’t know what else you can do. Well I suppose a little extra money woud help too. The link here will show an article written to “benchmark” productivity. I really don’t know how you can measure productivity, but somehow they did it. It is nice to have a large monitor and have more windows open. I definitely notice when working on Final Cut Pro or even Dreamweaver. The extra 30% may be a few more web pages and/or a few more minutes of a digital movie. Also, studies have shown that larger monitors decrease eye fatigue. Typically, people like to make their font larger so it is more legible. This will increase display size (not to be confused with resolution, resolution = pixels/inch, size = 1024×768) and give you more room to work with. So if your guilty pleasure is gaming, surfing, or creating. A new 20″ LCD will help you be better in all those aspects.
