Google’s Virtual Hard Drive

On Thursday, Google has come up with a tool that will allow the transfer of files from PC to PC via the web. The cost is free, BUT the tax is your privacy. With the use of their tool, you must relinquish your privacy rights for the transfer of files. Google has stated that they will keep the files on their servers for 30 days. People are all up in arms over the privacy thing, but I say, you’re not going to be transferring credit card documents, anything important, or even trying to backup sensitive information over the web.

On the heels of the unsuccessful Google Desktop and numerous user complaints about the latest version, Google has been in sort of a slump lately. This is due to the censorship in China and a first quarter earnings report that was way below estimates.

Maybe this new tool will give it a new kickstart that it needs. I truly believe this is going to be great for transferring files to your buddy and/or sharing mp3′s with friends. But we’ll see. Hey, at least it’s free.
