Verizon Fios TV

Maryland has just passed some legislation in Howard County to allow new cable tv competition. This sets a new precedent for other Maryland counties. This will finally introduce lower prices and more options for the consumers here. Personally, I am sick of paying a ridiculous amount for HDTV, when you can get major networks over the air for free. Here’s what the service includes.

Verizon Fios TV will provide over 20 Hi Def channels, whereas, Comcast only provides 15 without having to pay extra for more HD channels. Howard County is one of the first counties in Maryland to have the fiber optic service. Many people are seeing crews out there digging up the ground and installing the new fiber optic cable. This will allow the download speeds up to 15 mbps down and 2 mbps up. That is just frickin’ ridiculous.

So look for the new Verizon Fios TV coming soon to a neighborhood around you. It may be worth checking out.
