Someone once told me that once something runs out at the supermarket and it was sold out on the shelf, you can ask for a rain check and they will honor that price the next time you go in. Specifically, I was in the soup aisle and I love me some fine Italian Wedding soup and they had no more left at the 8/$10 special. So I went to the customer service desk and asked for a raincheck. They kindly obliged and got a receipt that is good for 90 days. Talk about a hook-up. So I suggest trying that the next time you see something on sale and it’s sold out.
