After a weekend of just vegging out in front of the TV, I came across a show on Spike called TRUCKS! They had a segment on how to increase tread life and prevent corrosion on your new rims. Some dude with a mullet and a deep southern drawl suggested that you fill your tires with Nitrogen. Then it all made sense to me, Nitrogen is an inert gas and will not explode, the molecules are actually larger than of normal air we put into tires, and most importantly, it lacks moisture so there is no corrosion on your rims and will keep the tire inflated longer with temperature variances. So if you can find a local custom car shop, fill your tires with nitrogen and watch your gas mileage go up about an average of .5 mile/gallon and longer tire life.

That’s an interesting bit of information. It is kind of wierd, once you think about it, that people are using an unfamiliar gas to the tire that has been used to normal air for so long. I like the idea!
