Today you are going to see a softer side of me. After a couple of weeks filled with drama and countless hours of thinking. I have come to a conclusion; Relationships are very important in everyone’s lives.
As I spent the week thinking about what I wanted out of a relationship, millions of things were flying through my head. Ultimately, everyone wants to be happy and find their soul mate whether that be sooner or later. I have learned this the hard way. There is that evergreen part of the relationship where you are pursuing each other, the love dovey talk, the opening of doors on the first few dates and the interesting conversations. We all get in this zone and think to ourselves, “WOW, he/she is great”. This lasts for a little while and you build a comfort level with them. You begin to find out their favorite color, favorite food, their interests and begin to open up to the person and leave yourself vulnerable. And herein lies the rub – LOVE.
Love is a term that gets thrown around lossely when you are in a relationship. It’s not the same love that you show your family or your close friends. You leave yourself vulnerable and you get hurt. This is the ultimate sacrifice, your feelings. This is truly important when you are dealing with your family. Family is what will keep you going through all the bad times. They won’t leave you or hate you cause you didn’t send them a card out of the blue.
Everyone has had horror stories about how they were treated poorly or how “it’s not you, it’s me”. If you never been through it, you’d be lying. This vulnerability is a part of all of us, cause we’re human. So if you are in a budding relationship or a long term relationship use the term like you mean it, everytime you say it. Say you love your mom, dad, siblings, and/or grandparents, cause you will never know when it’s going to be your last.
